“Just ask questions!”

I was very shy when I was little, and (even now) had a difficult time with personal disclosure. My mom also errs on the shy side, so she told me that whenever I was in a social situation, to just be interested in other people and ask questions. I still use this technique and I think in many ways is what makes me a good networker.
