“If you fall off the horse, get back on.”

The funny thing is, I fell off a horse when I was in Colombia over fall break. And even though, in the moment, I was crying and shouting “I will NOT get back on that horse!”, I realized that I did, in fact, have to get back on. I think my dad saying this to me – and other nuggets of wisdom that I’ll share in the following examples – helped me become the adventurous person that I am (the person that willingly gets on a dirty little horse deep in the jungle in Colombia).
