Rather than pointing the finger at someone else, it is more effective for leaders to recognize and take responsibility for their team’s actions. It sets an example, develops trust, and helps the team move forward with confidence. It’s hard, but that’s why it works—most people won’t do it. But, think about it, if someone on your team has messed up then it was actually your responsibility—and you need to ensure they do not make the same mistake again.
“Leaders embrace extreme ownership and take responsibility for themselves and their teams.”
