“Money cannot buy happiness, but it can buy freedom.”

My cousin Rose (who has made her fair-share of money) is a very grounded and extremely frugal person. She has bestowed A LOT of wisdom over the years, but this one really sticks. It’s important to know that money doesn’t buy happiness. However, it is also a good reality check to at least understand that money can bring security and the freedom of choice. I feel like her advice has rooted me in being less naïve.
