“To each his own.”

I was frustrated with my mother on a family vacation: she wouldn’t ski on a ski trip and preferred to stay inside all day. I was venting my frustration to my ski instructor and his response was so simple and nonchalant. If what my mom was doing was making her happy and not causing me (or anyone else) any harm, what’s the problem? Let her be her.
