“Don’t run from something, run towards something else.”

Lloyd and I had a very father/daughter type relationship my whole time at Diamond, he looked out for me and was critical in my success there. In my time at Diamond we went through a huge accounting scandal which left the company in a turnaround situation. As people would leave the company, Lloyd always would analyze whether or not they were running from Diamond or towards another opportunity. I know the phrase is common, but I watched a lot of people run FROM something and I feel that he felt a need to point out what it looked like to me early in my career. No one ever thinks they’re running from something—I’m glad I saw what I did because I feel like I have a better grasp on this than most.
