I don’t remember when I heard this one and I know I didn’t write it down correctly, but I thought it was funny. As young people we try so hard put yourself in someone else’s head, but sometimes our empathy gets clouded by vanity and we’re really just trying to see what they think of us. As we age, we care a little less, and then eventually, we realize we probably spent too much time thinking about it in the first place.
“When you’re young you worry about what people think about you, when your middle aged you don’t care what people think about you, and when you’re older you realize that they were never really thinking about you at all.”
