“Don’t sell yourself short.”

Aunt and uncle

I distinctly remember a conversation with my aunt and uncle that inspired me to apply to business school. In talking about what I wanted to do next in my career, they suggested getting an MBA. I said that was unrealistic because I wasn’t a ‘business’ person and could never pass classes in finance and accounting. They repeated over and over that I shouldn’t sell myself short, that I was more than capable to go to B-school. I began to seriously think about this possibility and eventually started the process. Seeing where this journey has taken me, I’m so grateful that they convinced me I could do it.
