My best friend said this to me in high school when she decided she was going to tell her crush that she liked him and it’s stuck with me ever since. Even though the boy did not feel the same way, she said she’d much rather know that, then always wonder ‘what if’? I’ve thought about that saying ever since then and have taken risks within reason because of it.
