“You have competition every day because you set such high standards for yourself that you have to go out every day and live up to that.”

Michael Jordan ― Basketball player/Businessman

As a kid spending a good portion of my childhood in and around Chicago in the 80s and 90s, I would be remiss if I had no quotes from ‘His Airness’. I like this quote because it internalizes competition. I have always been my harshest critic, so this shows how important setting high standards for yourself can be. I want to be someone that competes against myself first, the true competition next (sweet snacks), and never against my colleagues. I hate corporate politics of backstabbing and putting others down to get ahead, so competing with myself is the best way to put out quality work without having a negative effect on others.
