“You are never done learning – if you finish a day and say you didn’t learn anything, you did it wrong.”

Father

My father and grandfather both lived similar values as scholars and professors who pushed for professional development in order to give their families a better life. They taught me to be humble, inquisitive, grounded, and forgiving, but they also taught me that there is a continuum of work-family balance and I do not want to miss out like they did. I do want to follow their legacies of being heavily involved in family life and supporting the people you love. My mom, a teacher, made us appreciate how much of a difference you can make in other people’s lives if you focus on developing them and make yourself available. I may never teach high school kids, but I know that I want to develop talent.
