I have a strange obsession with Thomas Jefferson, and this is one of my favorite quotes of his. I can’t remember the first time I heard it or read it, but I’ve always loved the juxtaposition of fluidity and resolve. It’s a good reminder when I need perspective on what’s most important.
“On matters of style, swim with the current. On matters of principle, stand like a rock.”
Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) ― President of the United States, 1801 to 1809
